Free Food

I love taking Saturday morning walks  just as the sun is coming up. There are no distractions and it is a time to plan out my week and explore SE Portland.  I probably appreciate these walksmore as I know my time here is ending. Exciting and scary.  I'm ready for something new.

This is the bulletin board at Reed College where the ghost of Steve Jobs haunts (kidding). I love that they still use flyers as a communication means. It reminds me of college andfun nights in the east village in NYC. There would stacks of flyers on the table outside Hayden Hall -- before Facebook and the internet.

This intersting structure was on the corner of Steele and Chavez. It was a free food pantry. I’ve never seen one before and thought gosh — Portland could use hundreds of these. I saw a woman stocking as I approached. She had a Reed sticker on her car.

These free libraries (below) are quite common and I suppose we need more of these too for a different kind of nourishment.
This is my walking partner and he found a stick on our walk.
