Home for Christmas

I'm back home in New York for Christmas and took the train into the city today from Westchester, where I am staying. I had a Google Professional data engineer certification voucher  that I got from work that expires this month and decided to take it while in New York. The testing centers are pretty far from my home in Portland.

I took the exam today and woohoo passed. I am officially a  Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer.  The exam was challenging and really well designed. It tests your ability to design large scale data processing systems, operationalize ML & AI pipelines, deep technical know how, and and overall data theory foundations. It was fun getting a refresher on these topics and preparing these past few months. My company Siemens, is a Google Cloud partner and that's how I got the free exam voucher to get certified.

In other news, I’m excited to be moving back to New York. I’ll miss the west coast but not more than I've missed being here. There is no place like this that I have ever experienced.  More on that later ...

Here are some shots I took wandering around New York on the way back to Grand Central Terminal.
