I love this bridge
I had a great time in San Francisco this past week. I attended a Linux Foundation Event and I continue to be amazed by the power of free and open software and how it transforming the world as we know it. Some very kind tourists saw me fussing with my iPhone camera trying to take a photograph with my favorite bridge and well .. offered to take this shot. Did I say... I love living on the west coast.
On the reading front, I've just completed Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood; Yes like the Beatles song. The book is a good read --reminds me of 'The Catcher in the Rye". While on a plane ride to Germany, the story starts with a song triggering a series of memories for the main character Toru Watanabe. My favorite quote in the book is " Memory is a funny thing. When I was in the scene, I hardly paid it any mind. I never stopped to think of it as something that would make a lasting impression, certainly never imagined that eighteen years later I would recall it in such detail. I didn't give a damn about the scenery that day. I was thinking about myself" and then the story unfolds.
In other news, I'm planning a vegetable garden with some raised beds and 3 varieties of tomatoes. I spoke to someone at Territorial Seed Company for 30 minutes and learned so much about this vegetable (or fruit). Thank god for places like that. I'll post more gardening developments as they emerge. Bye for now.
