Seated Harlequin

From NYC 2010

It is Picasso's "Seated Harlequin" and its on special exhibit at the MET. The Harlequin (jester/clown) was one of Picasso's alter egos. The work is breath taking and a master piece.

Spending time in another part of the exhibit focused on his cubism phase, I had to sit down to soak in the genius this man was. He was pushing the envelope in every direction. The level of abstraction he was working in in his cubist phase is astonishing. I'm looking forward to seeing more of his stuff in France.
