disorder and time

I was making some eggs this morning and accidentally dropped a small glass bowl from the kitchen counter top. I watched it fall to the floor and shatter into more pieces than I care to count. Here was a bowl in an otherwise highly ordered state that crashed to the floor into may pieces (now in a highly disordered state). If space time is always moving forward in an expanding universe-- It seems disorder increases in the same direction as space time. What is the direction of time you might ask ? Well ...forward. Maybe I'm thinking about this because my birthday just passed. It begs the question -- if the universe stops expanding for some reason and actually starts contracting, would the direction of space/time be reversed and would the bowl be moving from its disordered state (all the broken pieces) to a more ordered one (like the original bowl)? Imagine the bowl re-assembling iteself from its many broken pieces on the floor, back up to the counter -- to its original more ordered state. That is what you might see if the universe started contracting. If nothing endures but change and change over space time means more disorder --- well.. my eggs are becoming more scrambled by the minute. :)
