Uncertainty Principle ?

The Uncertainty Principle does away with the concept of an "objective realtity". Exact Sciences is more illusion than fact -- particularly at the subatomic level . "The Cogs of the Machine have become the creators of the universe".
I took some notes while reading up on the "special theory of relativity" and although I expected to walk away with the obvious "everything is relative"; What I actually took away was that "Appearances are Relative". It describes how some relative aspects of physical reality seem to vary based on "Point of View".
Here is an example -- suppose you are laying on your bed and your cat strolls by. Clearly you are not in motion and the cat is. Not so simple -- what if you are sitting on your bed that happens to be on a cruise liner sailing the ocean -and another person sees the both of you float by. Then what ? Are you both in motion ? Enter the frame of reference . In the first example, your frame of reference was the ship and yes you were not in motion and in the second, the observers frame of reference may have been the ocean and you were in motion. The mental exercise is further complicated by realizing that the earth is moving. That said, lets talk about "Inert Frame of reference". Well that is certainly not what the earth is . Classical mechanics often uses earth as an unconscious frame of reference (you know --apple falling to earth etc) -except the earth is not an absolute frame of reference . In our reality there is no absolute frame of reference. Jim de Wit put it this way " There is no such thing as something being absolutely at rest, unequivocally not moving. Motion, and the lack of it, is always relative to something else. Whether we are moving or not depends upon what frame of reference we use." Absolute non-motion is yet to be discovered.

Yesterday was the tree lighting at Rockefeller center and it is officially Christmas time in New England. I missed the ceremony because I was on the phone with some people at Stanford about some courses they are offering that I find interesting.

I started seeing results from google analytics and the features are quite impressive.
