Gamla Stan

I was organizing some of my old photos this afternoon and found these pictures from when we were in Stockholm, Sweden. Most of these shots are from Gamla Stan or the old center in Stockholm, where we were staying, and the architecture in that part of the city is very beautiful. 13th century buildings with steeples that pierce the sky and form a beautiful skyline.
Stortoget Square - A nice place to people watch and just to the left of this photo is where the Swedish Academy decides the Nobel Prize Winners each year. The room where they convene, overlooks this busy square. The buildings are breath taking and well maintained. The nearby church has catacombs from the 13th century with the beautiful medieval arches.

Navigating the narrow streets in this charming city is loads of fun. You will find art, history, and culture around every corner. (Maybe even a Gnome or two!)
